Introducing Pixel Doods
Introduction
*Drum roll* Introduuuuucing… Pixel Doods!
We’re a new NFT project comprised of 8,888 digitally-drawn and randomly generated doods living on the Ethereum blockchain. The goal of our project is to enable a community rewards program, where holders are randomly selected and airdropped Doodles, purchased and funded by the Project Founders. We are inspired by, but not affiliated with Doodles, or Doodles LLC. We MAY eat pixels for breakfast. *hiccup*
Our Pixel Thesis
# Inspiration
Our team have long been inspired by popular culture, art, and gaming. We all grew up as gamers and artists / programmers. Having participated in the world of NFTs for the last 6–9 months, our team has taken inspiration from our past and our favourite blue-chip collection, Doodles, to launch a project of our own.
# Pixel art
Why pixels you ask? Because they’re cool AF and have stood the test of time as an art style. Whilst the first pixel games were launched in the 70’s (Space invaders launched in 1978), popular games and art is still being produced using pixel art today. We’re fans of pixel art because in a way it’s a forcing function to drive creativity and to do ‘a lot with a little’. It also leaves more to imagination than high fidelity art, as your interpretation of a few pixels may be different than someone else’s.
What we’re trying to say is… WE LIKE THE PIXELS. And hope you do too.
# Doodles
Doodles was launched on October 17th by three founders: @evankeast, @byburnttoast and @poope_cat. We have huge admiration for what they’ve created, both in terms of art as well in community. Since their launch, Doodles have steadily escalated in value, up to a >11 ETH floor at the time of writing this medium article. We believe Doodles is an NFT collection that will stand the test of time.
# Blue chip access democratization
As awesome as Doodles are, there’s a problem: many people who love their art and project are priced out of entry. We believe that people who love communities but do not have the means to join them, should still have a way. That’s where Pixel Doods come in. We’ve designed our roadmap to help democratize access to Doodles, and as we mint out, will be buying Doodles to airdrop to random holders of Pixel Doods. This process will be completely random, transparent, and fair. We hope the Doodle airdrops change some people’s lives.
Beyond launch, we will design a formula to ensure we can continuously do this through a % of royalties generated by Pixel Dood sales.

# Creation

Whilst clearly inspired by & paying homage to Doodles, we’ve created our collection entirely from scratch using Photoshop and Illustrator ourselves. No fiverr outsourcing here ser.
We have 150+ traits, resulting in a total number of 8,888 randomised Pixel Doods. Many of our traits are inspired by the Doodles collection, but there are many others which are completely new!
Our collection also contains 1 of 1s, some of which will be mintable, and others which may be reserved as special airdrops for community prizes.
# Launch
We pixel doods like it simple.
That’s why we have no WL and will start our mint with 1,000 free Pixel Doods.

# Community
Owning an NFT is ofcourse about so much more than the JPEG. You’ll be part of the Pixel Doods collective! Fellow doods who have an appreciation for the !vibe, like to hang out with each other in discord, exchange great alpha, and ofcourse, speculate on who will get the next airdropped doodle!
# Airdrop
We will be airdropping Doodles to Pixel Dood holders AS we mint. Buying them and airdropping them as we go, following a completely random selection process.
Drop schedule:
- At 20% minted, a Doodle will be purchased and given to a random holder immediately!
- At 40% minted, a Doodle will be purchased and given to a random holder immediately!
- At 60% minted, a Doodle will be purchased and given to a random holder immediately!
- At 80% minted, a Doodle will be purchased and given to a random holder immediately!
- At 100% minted, a *special* Doodle will be purchased, and given to a random holder via a ceremony!
THAT’S IT. We’re not CrEaTiNg ThE MeTaVerSe, producing some D-grade game nobody will play, or sending you to print-on-demand some generic merch. We’re delivering great art, a well-run discord, pixels and DOODLES. Some people’s lives will change. Let’s !vibe
